Dairy Free Gingerbread Hot Chocolate

Ingredients
  

Hot Chocolate
  • 1 cup almond milk, I use unsweetened almond Malk
  • 1 tbsp organic cacao powder, I use Navitas Organics
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • ½ tsp gingerbread spice (see below)
Gingerbread Spice
  • 1 tbsp ground allspice (you can sub with pumpkin pie spice)
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp ground ginger
  • tsp tsp ground cloves
  • tsp tsp ground nutmeg

Method
 

Gingerbread Spice
  1. Mix all ingredients in a small bowl and set aside. Store in an airtight container.
Hot Chocolate
  1. To a small saucepan on medium heat, add almond milk, chocolate powder, gingerbread spice and maple syrup.
  2. Mix with a whisk to avoid burning until milk gets hot and comes to a simmer.
  3. Carefully pour into a cup and top with fresh whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Enjoy!
